Looking Up | New Year Ahead

I can see how it might be possible for a man to look down upon the earth and be an atheist, but I cannot conceive how he could look up into the heavens and say there is no God. ~ Abraham Lincoln

Christmas has come and gone in the blink of an eye.  I still don’t think I’m done getting ready for it, but oh well, I guess the important stuff got done.  Guests still fill our home, laundry piles up, the oven runs around the clock.  Table games are played with grandparents, siblings jam on rock band, the little guy rides around inside on his new blue scooter.

In the midst of it all, I got out of the house this morning for a client photo shoot.  I have another upcoming this afternoon.  While walking around the woods this morning with the four kids, watching them run ahead and find all kinds of mysteries wherever they looked, I breathed in and looked up.  How gorgeous the sky.

As the New Year approaches, I’m remembering to not only look back to see where I’ve been and to look ahead to see where I’m going, but also to look up.  Guidance, inspiration, thanks.
