I write to process what’s in my head.  And if that can help someone stop and think for a second, then that’s all good.  Tonight I photographed a deceased newborn baby girl as part of my volunteer work with Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep, a network of volunteer photographers who donate their time and services to families experiencing the loss of a newborn infant.  Sometimes it is all we can do, to donate what we know, to give what we possess, to share our gifts.  If there is something you can share, I encourage you to do so.  You will be blessed by more than you give.

Heart breaking Aileen. My prayers tonight include those parents and their little angel. You did a difficult and wonderful thing for them.

Beautiful post. We lost a baby Sept. 11, 2009 and I regret not having it documented by a NILMDTS photographer. I only hope I can find the strength to give back to this amazing organization one day.
