Sometimes it’s the small things that bring notice to the larger changes at hand.

For years, I have been putting this girl (my oldest) in and out of cars.
First, it was a five-point rear-facing infant carrier;
then a forward-facing five-point harness carseat;
then a booster with a back;
and, then a simple seatbelt.
But, always in the back.
Today, she opened up the front passenger door, got in, and buckled up.
The front seat.
The front.
The.
Front.
Today she is 12.
Oh. My.

That hurt my heart, in a good way. Love to you and happy birthday to your front-seat daughter.
Oh wow, got misty eyed. Happy birthday to your oldest!
